About Pike

Put the taste back in the hands of the tastemaker.

Pike is where you keep the places you love and hand them to someone else as a guide instead of a screenshot of a screenshot. This is the web build: the same product as the iOS and Android apps, installable from the browser, and readable by anyone you send a link to.

  • Guides, not listicles A guide is a handful of places in the order you would actually do them, with a line each on why. That is the whole format.
  • Itineraries that know the walk Every guide shows the walking time between stops, so a list becomes a plan.
  • Search by vibe People do not look for “cocktail bar, 4.2 stars”. They look for cosy, or loud, or somewhere you can hear each other.
  • Works underground Save a guide and it reads offline — photos included. Which is where you need it.
  • People, not an algorithm Follow the handful of people whose taste you trust. Their guides come first.
  • A link is enough Every guide has a real web address that opens for anyone, app or no app.

About this build

A rebuild of the Pike experience as an installable web app. Guide content and photography come from Pike's own public guides. Engagement counts and the member accounts are seeded sample data, so the social features can be exercised end to end — they are not Pike's real numbers. Place ratings are deliberately left blank rather than invented; they arrive with the Google Places connection.

Maps are OpenStreetMap data rendered by CARTO. Built by Wave Agency.
