Running strong since 2000, Movies With A View is Brooklyn Bridge Park's most beloved free event series — eight consecutive Thursday evenings in July and August on the Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn, with the dazzling Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge as your backdrop. The 25th season featured a curated lineup including The Matrix, Hidden Figures, and Alien, with food vendors and beverages on-site. For a more elevated movie experience, Rooftop Cinema Club Midtown sits on the 3rd-floor Skylawn rooftop of the Embassy Suites Hotel, offering stunning panoramic views of the NYC skyline — Empire State Building and all. Guests settle into lounge chairs with state-of-the-art wireless headphones, a full bar serving seasonal cocktails, and a curated program of cult classics, arthouse picks, and new releases. Tickets range from $28–$35 and this is one of the city's top date-night destinations.

There's no stranger or more spectacular setting for a movie night in New York than the flight deck of a WWII-era aircraft carrier. The Intrepid Museum hosts free monthly outdoor screenings each summer on its iconic flight deck, with films projected on a giant inflatable screen against views of the Hudson River and city skyline. The 2025 series featured ocean-themed blockbusters like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Abyss — bring lawn chairs, blankets, and your own snacks, and arrive early as capacity is strictly limited.
