Then we headed to Rothorn Restaurant & Pizzeria, a casual mountain spot with wood-fired pizza, hearty mains, and breathtaking panoramic views. For classic Swiss flavors, Restaurant Schäferstube served cozy lamb, fondue, and rösti in a traditional wood-paneled setting, followed by Whymper-Stube, iconic for cheese fondue and raclette—the ultimate winter comfort food. We wrapped it up at Fuchs Bakery & Café, warming up with coffee, hot chocolate, and freshly baked pastries after a day in the Alps. The Two-Hour Backcountry Tour near Killington, Vermont is an adventurous 25-mile journey through the Calvin Coolidge State Forest on the VT State trail system. We stayed the night at the lodge on Schroon Lake, started the morning with fresh coffee from Mile Nine Coffee Company, and then set out on the water with two tandem kayaks. Paddling around Clark’s Island gave us the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Adirondacks and the peaceful charm of Schroon Lake. After working up an appetite, we headed to Sticks & Stones, where we enjoyed a tasty meal and cold beers in a great atmosphere. Then we walked to the beach to catch a view of the sunset followed by some fire side s’more’s provided by the lodge. — the perfect way to end a day of adventure.
This weekend we had an incredible time in Lake George. We started the day paddling with Lake George Kayak Co. , renting kayaks and exploring around Green Island near the beautiful Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing. The calm waters and stunning views made it an unforgettable experience. In the evening, we switched gears for an adventure with Revolution Rail, where we pedaled rail bikes—a four-seater and a two-seater—through scenic woods and along the Hudson River. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and an amazing family activity from start to finish.
Our day at Champlain Orchards was the perfect mix of autumn charm and flavor. We wandered through rows of trees heavy with fruit, picking all sorts of apples—from Thomas Jefferson’s favorite, the Esopus Spitzenburg, to our personal top pick, the Nova Spy, with its crisp bite and subtle notes of vanilla. Basket by basket, we filled our peck while taking in the orchard’s peaceful scenery.Once we had our fill of apple picking, we headed next door to the cidery, where a flight of Champlain’s handcrafted hard ciders was waiting for us. Each cider carried its own unique character, some even award-winning, ranging from bright and refreshing to bold and complex. It was the perfect way to savor the fruits of the orchard in a whole new form.Before heading home, we couldn’t resist grabbing a warm cider doughnut—sweet, spiced, and the ideal ending to a quintessential Vermont fall outing.

After eating a great breakfast at our hotel. The morning began soaring through crisp winter air on a paraglide over snow-covered valleys and alpine ridgelines. After landing, a scenic train carried us to the summit of Gornergrat, where we sipped a cold, well-earned Swiss beer while taking in unbeatable views of the Matterhorn rising sharply against the winter sky. As a final highlight, an ibex appeared on the snowy slopes, perfectly closing out an unforgettable alpine day. An evening well spent at 60 Vines where we wined and dined on delicious food, exceptional service, and an incredible selection of wines. Whether you pick a flight or a single pour, you can’t go wrong. After dinner, skip dessert in-house and take a stroll to Ben & Jerry’s for a sweet finish we even brought our waitress back her favorite scoop. A perfect night out for family or a romantic date alike.
Enjoyed a fun day at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Clifton, Virginia — scenic fairways, calm water and a relaxed, friendly vibe from start to finish. With two 18-hole courses, you can choose your challenge: one with water hazards and the other featuring narrow, technical fairways. Both are beautifully maintained, and you really can’t go wrong. 🌲🚲 Just had the most amazing family adventure at Acadia National Park! 🚲🌲We spent the day biking and e-biking along the famous carriage roads, soaking in the stunning scenery and fresh mountain air. 🍃 The Tri Lake Loop was our highlight, taking us around Eagle Lake, Bubble Pond, and Jordan Pond. Each stop offered its own unique charm and breathtaking views. 🏞️After our ride, we treated ourselves to delicious popovers and refreshing blueberry lemonade at the historic Jordan Pond House. 🍋🫐 It was the perfect way to end our active day, enjoying local flavors with a view of the tranquil pond and surrounding mountains. 🏞️Acadia National Park truly stole our hearts with its natural beauty and peaceful vibes.
